CW Order Pilot For Green Arrow Solo TV Show; Title Now ARROW

With the popular retelling of Superman’s origin in CW’s Smallville ending on its tenth season last year, rumors have been rapid ever since that CW was eager for more DC hero shows.  Now a solo show for Green Arrow, titled Arrow, is officially on getting the go ahead…..

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Arrow earlier today, which will be written by the writing duo behind the 2011 superhero blockbuster Green Lantern Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.  Arrow is being described as a “Modern take” on the Green Arrow story; which will harbor no connection to Smallville as previously rumored.  Here is a brief synopsis for Arrow:

Arrow, based on DC Comics’ long-running Green Arrow, revolves around the hooded super hero, a wealthy playboy by day who secretly saves the city by night using his enhanced arrows.

The hourlong drama is a modern retelling of the legendary comics character and hails from Green Lantern duo Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim.
