A new poster for “The Amazing Spider-Man” shows Spider-Man and Gwen Stacey embarrassing each other. Also one half of the writing duo behind the upcoming sequel dishes out new details….
While talking to Movie.com, Alex Kurtzman talked about the sequel to “The Amazing Spider-Man” (hitting theaters May 2nd, 2014) that he will pen with frequent writing partner Roberto Orci. When asked about who the villain will be, Kurtzman replied with the following:
“I can’t really talk about it. What I can say is how amazingly impressed I was with what they did. I was a huge fan of Sam [Raimi’s] movies. My God. When you look back at the superhero movies of the last decade, there’s no question that Spider-Man was right there at the top.”
He also tackled the struggle that comes with restarting a series that was already beloved:
“….it’s a really tall order to jump in and sort of come up with a new version. But I think what Marc and Andrew [Garfield] did, what Emma [Stone] and all of the producers did, was to ground the world in a reality that felt so honest and authentic. And I think both Bob and I responded to that instantly.”
